These "low-cost" costumes, created by a talented Cosplayer, are hilarious and brilliant.

It's a common misconception that cosplayers must invest heavily in their costumes. Anucha Saengchart (also known as "lonely man") proves, however, that all you need is a few commonplace items and some creativity. His Low-Cost Cosplay film, in which he humorously documents his transformations into characters from pop culture and beyond, has been a big success.

The Facebook and Instagram pages for Low-Cost, Cosplay feature outfits for four different characters in each post. In the first row, Saengchart examines the tool (or tools) he will use to create his style. Sometimes it's a body polish made of candies, and other times it's ketchup and french fries. In panel two, he snaps a picture of his current project. In the final two panels, you can see how his illustration compares to the real photo.

Surprisingly, Saengchart gets through the feeling of who or what he's trying to depict by gently structuring his resources or using a forced viewpoint. Are they carbon copies of the real thing? Absolutely not! We wouldn't have it any other way, but that's part of the charm of Low-Cost Cosplay.
