At just 21, Irwin exuded confidence as he posed alongside snakes, lizards, and even venomous spiders—dressed in nothing but Bonds boxer briefs. While the campaign, titled "Made for Down Under," was meant to highlight the brand’s expansion, it left many longtime followers stunned, struggling to reconcile the young boy they once knew with the man in the photos.
m;">“It just feels surreal to see him like this…” one person admitted. “I watched him grow up, and now I feel weird having these thoughts. 😂”
“I remember his birth, and now he’s doing underwear ads? Time flies! 😅” another commented.

A third added, “Bro, I can’t process this. I’ve watched him since he was in diapers!”
Some felt nostalgic, reminiscing about how much he resembles his father. “He looks just like Steve. It’s like seeing history repeat itself,” one fan remarked. Others playfully teased him, with one user joking, “You’re grounded, Rob! 😂”
Many viewers who have seen Robert grew up were pleasantly shocked by how much the 21-year-old has grown up.
Unfazed by the reaction, Irwin was enthusiastic about the opportunity when speaking to PEOPLE. “It was an instant yes for me,” he laughed. “I wish I could say I was super cool about it, but I just thought, ‘Let’s do it!’ Bonds is such an iconic brand in Australia.”
